How to Set Up Your Delivery Settings

Updated today

Overview

Offering local delivery is a fantastic way to expand your reach and delight your customers! Our smart delivery tools ensure you only get orders from areas you can realistically reach. This guide will walk you through enabling delivery, setting fees, mapping out your driving zone, and blocking off your days off.

Prerequisites

  • Your Bakeshop storefront is active.

  • You have a physical address added to your account (where your deliveries will start from).

  • You know how far (in minutes) you are willing to drive for drop-offs.

Step 1: Access your delivery settings

Let’s get your delivery mapped out from your dashboard.

  1. Navigate to your Bakeshop dashboard.

  2. Click on Schedule in the left-hand menu, then select Delivery.

    • Alternatively, you can click the pink Start Setup button under the "Configure Delivery" section of your welcome checklist!

Step 2: Enable delivery and set your basics

First, we need to turn the feature on and decide what you'll charge.

  1. Toggle the switch labeled Enable Delivery so it turns pink (On).

  2. Delivery Fee: Enter the amount you want to charge customers for this service (e.g., $10).

  3. Bakery Address: Click the dropdown to select the address you will be driving from. If you haven't added one yet, click the pink + button.

Step 3: Map your delivery zone

Instead of a basic distance circle, Bakeshop uses actual road networks and travel times to make sure you never get stuck delivering across a river or un-drivable route!

  1. Click the pink Set Up Delivery Zone button.

  2. Travel Time (minutes): Enter the maximum number of minutes you are willing to drive for a delivery (e.g., 15).

  3. Travel Profile: Select your method of transportation (e.g., Driving).

  4. Click the pink Generate Delivery Zone button.

Pro Tip: Once generated, you will see an overlay on the map. This shows your exact coverage area based on real-world traffic patterns and roads!

  5. Click the pink Save button at the top right of the to activate your new delivery settings.

Step 4: Set your availability (Days off!)

Just like pickup scheduling, you are in total control of when you hit the road.

  1. Look over to the Delivery Availability section on the right side of your screen.

  2. Block Days of Week: Click on any day you do not want to offer delivery (like Sun or Sat).

  3. Block Date Range: If you are taking a vacation, select a start and end date in the fields, then click the gray Block button.

  4. Scroll down to the Calendar view. All your blocked dates will be highlighted in pink/red so you can easily verify your schedule.

  5. Click the pink Save button at the top right of the to activate your new delivery availability.
