Overview
Your store settings are where you establish the “house rules” and identity of your bakery. By adding your location, writing clear policies, and linking your social media, you build trust with your customers and make your Bakeshop storefront look professional and complete.
Prerequisites
Your Bakeshop storefront is active.
You have the URLs (links) ready for your bakery's social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok).
Step 1: Access your store settings
Let's navigate to the right place in your dashboard.
From your Bakeshop dashboard, look at the left-hand menu.
Click on Shop, then select Shop Info from the dropdown list.
Alternatively, you can click the pink Start Setup button under the "Brand Your Shop" section of your welcome checklist!
Step 2: Add your location and tax rate
Customers love supporting local bakers, so let them know where you are!
Location: Enter your City, State, and ZIP Code (optional) in the text box.
Sales Tax Rate: If your local laws require you to collect sales tax on your baked goods, enter the percentage here (e.g., 8.5%). Bakeshop will use this field to automatically calculate taxes at checkout for all orders.
Step 3: Define your store policies
Setting clear expectations up front prevents headaches later.
In the Store Policies text box, type out your rules for customers.
Pro Tip: Not sure what to write? A professional bakery policy should clearly outline how far in advance customers need to cancel for a refund, what happens if they miss a pickup window, and any allergen disclaimers regarding your home kitchen.
Step 4: Connect your social media
Turn your storefront visitors into followers!
Scroll down to the Social Media Links section.
Paste the full web addresses for your Instagram, Facebook, and/or TikTok profiles into the corresponding boxes (e.g.,
https://instagram.com/yourbakery).
Step 5: Save your settings
Make sure your new information goes live.
Click the pink Save button in the top right corner of the screen.
