Overview
A "Drop" is an exciting, limited-time pre-sale! Instead of taking orders every day, Drops allow you to open a specific ordering window for a designated pickup date (like a Valentine's Day cookie box or a weekend pop-up). This is the perfect way to build hype on social media while keeping total control over your baking schedule and inventory.
Prerequisites
Your Bakeshop storefront is active.
You have already added products to your menu and set their Product Type to Drops (see our "How to Add Products to Your Menu" guide if you need a refresher!).
You know exactly when you want customers to start ordering and when you want them to pick up.
Step 1: Create a new Drop
Let’s get started in your dashboard.
Navigate to your Bakeshop dashboard.
Look at the left-hand menu, click on Schedule, and select Drops.
Click the pink + New Drop button in the top right corner.
Step 2: Enter your Drop details
This is where you name your event and define exactly when your shop is open for business.
Drop Name: Give your drop a catchy title (e.g., "Holiday Cookies Drop").
Cover Image & Description: Upload an appetizing photo and write a short description explaining what makes this drop special.
Pre-orders Open & Close: Select the exact dates and times you want customers to be able to start placing orders, and when the window strictly closes.
Click Save & Continue.
Step 3: Set up your Pickup Windows
Tell your customers exactly when and where they can get their treats.
Select your Pickup Location from the dropdown list.
Select your Pickup Date.
Choose the time intervals, and set when your Pickups begin and Pickups end.
Click the pink Create first pickup window button.
Pro Tip: Are you doing a weekend event? You can easily add multiple days by clicking the + Add pickup window button again to create slots for Saturday and Sunday!
Once your windows are set, toggle Delivery on if you are offering it, then click Save & Continue.
Step 4: Build your Drop Menu
Now, let's select which specific products you are selling during this event.
Click the pink + Add Product button to pull items from your master Drop Products list.
Set Inventory: For each item added, type exactly how many you are willing to bake for this specific drop (e.g., 100). If you can make an infinite amount during the order window, just check the Unlimited box!
Click Save & Continue.
Step 5: Review and Publish!
You are at the finish line! Bakeshop will automatically generate a beautiful Event Timeline summarizing all your moving parts.
Double-check your timeline to ensure the "Orders open" and "Pickup Window open" dates look correct.
If everything is perfect, click the big green Publish Event button.
Congratulations! Your Drop is officially scheduled and will automatically go live for customers precisely when your pre-order window opens.
